We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Bill Garner, a cornerstone of golf in Tennessee and a leader whose influence shaped our Section for decades. From becoming the Head PGA Professional at Windyke in 1965 to later serving as Director of Golf, President, and Owner, Bill dedicated his life ...to serving others through the game.

A former Tennessee PGA President (1979–81), two-time Professional of the Year, three-time Horton Smith Award winner, TPGA Distinguished Career Award recipient, and 2024 Tennessee Golf Hall of Fame inductee, Bill’s legacy is woven into the growth of our Section. He mentored countless PGA Professionals, championed amateur golf, and elevated the sport across the state.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the Windyke community. His impact will be felt for generations.

A visitation will be held at 2nd Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, December 9th at 12:30pm, followed by the funeral service at 2pm. A reception will take place at Windyke Country Club from 3:30 to 5.

Community makes us better.

The 2025 Business Summit brought together professionals from across the Section to learn, connect, and elevate our industry. With sessions on customer service, team-building, KPIs, AI, junior golf, and social media, it was a day full of impactful conversations.

Celebrating excellence across all five Tennessee PGA Chapters. Congratulations to our 2025 Chapter Award winners for their leadership, impact, and dedication to growing the game.

Stay tuned for the Section Award winners announcement!
